the first time always hurts...

this past weekend i took my first trip to smith rock! It was awesome! I went with Jen, and we picked up her friend Rachel and met-up w/ Jason. It was awesome to have Jason there. He is a great chill guy who helped us really get the most out of our trip. It is always nice to have a local "guide." Rachel was a hoot. she is a spunky & crazy climber.

It was a lot of fun, even though i felt like crap the first day. My throat was swallen & sore. it hurt to swallow let alone breath. But by the second day (after almost dying in the tent) i felt a lot better. I clean jen's gear placement & lead a route or two. Jen is awesome! she taught me how to climb cracks and clean gear. She also taught me a little about placing gear. She is a really strong climber! It was so much fun to hang out with everyone this weekend.

Sadly i forgot my camera, but jen & rach did bring cameras so i might be able to post some pictures... maybe.
