Take that gravity!!

yesterday i literally almost died... or atleast came really close to a very serious injury. I was enjoying the beautiful seattle weather. i was sunny and warm and we had a nice little breeze.

The scene. we where lead climbing outside at stone garden. This is a 40 ft wall we climbed the first route a really nice easy 5.4 or something like that (the one furthest left). then we moved to the next route a 5.8 (the middle, with a bit of a overhang the whole way). it was a nice route but i was tired and getting pumped. i had placed four clips and was working on placing the fifth (out of seven) as soon as i manage to set the clip and clip the rope i couldn't hold on any longer and i fell. i saw the first clip go by, not a big deal. when the second clip went by and i wasn't slowing down... this is when i knew there was something wrong. i doesn't take long to hit the ground from 25-30 feet. luckily i landed square on my feet and was able to absorb the fall. it was just like a bouldering fall... just 2-3 time higher (bigger), i didn't have a single scratch. and today i feel fine ... although i am going to take it easy for a couple days. My belayer on the other hand has a huge rope burn (she had slipped and tried to grab the wrong end of the rope) but other than that no major injures. thank the ones who are watching us or our luck or the world... whatever we are thanking i am just glad it wasn't worst.

After falling i let my other friend finish the lead and i went and cleaned the route. it was easier not having to set protection and it felt good to concur the route (even if it wasn't lead)

On a different note, if everything goes well today i will be in possesion of a fine 30' yatch. i am hoping to sign everthing tonight a have a place of my own. (picture coming soon... or e-mail me and i can forward some)

oh yeah i now have a cell phone so call me so i can have your number.
