did i get everything?
Well i started my holiday shopping yesterday... and i hope i also finished it. I think i have all my gifts bought, but i have that nagging feeling that i forgot someone /something. One of my adventures from shopping ....
The people working at RITZ camera are MORONS!! I went in to print off 20 digital pictures yesterday. i though it would be a fairly simple ordeal. I walked in with a gift card for 20 free digital prints, which was the only purpose i had for stopping into Ritz camera.
a quick question of the clerk set me in the right direction to select & print my digital pictures. Which was fairly easy but then i had to wait for the clerk to "authorize" the printing... and wait.. and wait... Finally she realizes that i am waiting, but the way there are only five people in the store and two clerks.
After the picture print i am back to waiting... did i mention it is a really small store with nothing much to peruse? i am still waiting... and that this point i am ready to leave the card for 20 digital prints on the counter and walk out the door. But i wait.
Yippee!!! it is finally my "turn" at this point the clerk says ... oh you can't us that "card for digital prints" on that machine "for printing out digital pictures" "we just changed the store policy last week."
WTF!!! i thought this was going to be a simply in and out job. no strings attached. well sadly i was mistaken. She told me that i could leave my $60 memory card with her and she would send it to another store to print 20 picture it would only take a couple days... a couple days??? to get 20 pictures exactly like the ones i have in front of me right now? what are you going to do with the picture right here? After a little debate and brainstorming, on my part, (yes just grabbing the picture walking out and leaving her to figure out how to use the infamous "card" what on the top of the list) i convinced them to "refund" the 20 prints on the card and apply that to the 20 prints that i just printed and i would pay the difference. (The card was intended for was 23 cents a print and FANCY NEW KODAK machine was 29 cents, mind you there is still a HUGE stack, to be sold, of these card sitting right in front of me!)
at this point i bet you are wondering what the difference was… the grand total, well after waiting and debating and waiting... and waiting.. the difference come to $0.01! that’s right on whole penny... I gave a slight chuckle and a smirk, turned and left, with my pictures of course....
